Bertrand Piccard is founder and chairman of the Solar Impulse Foundation, a global nonprofit organization created to further his vision behind Solar Impulse, the first airplane to ﬂy perpetually without fuel. Piccard’s history-making circumnavigation of Earth in a solar-powered plane proved that clean technologies exist and outperform old methods, while protecting the environment at the same time. As an explorer, Bertrand Piccard is recognized worldwide as a forward-thinking leader for progress and sustainability that supports economic growth and job creation. His current mission is to select and label 1000 solutions that protect the environment in a profitable way. In 2021 he will travel the world to deliver these solutions to decision makers, encouraging them to adopt more ambitious environmental targets and energy policies that make sense even if climate change didn’t exist. Bertrand Piccard believes that innovation and pioneering spirit are key to solving the most pressing challenge of our times: protecting the environment to ensure the quality of life on Earth.
