Organizers:

11:30 AM EDT / 17:30 CEST — Becoming a Nature Positive Economy and Society

This conversation between Marco Lambertini, Convener of the Nature Positive Initiative, and Carlos Manuel Rodríguez, CEO and Chairperson of the Global Environment Facility, will shine a spotlight on what it will take to bring about nature positive – a future where people live and thrive in harmony with nature; a future where there is more nature than there is today. How to achieve the global goal to halt and reverse biodiversity loss, enshrined in the mission of the Global Biodiversity Framework agreed by 196 countries in 2022 under the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, is the theme of the new book 'Becoming Nature Positive: Transitioning to a Safe and Just Future'. Marco Lambertini, lead author and commissioning editor, and Carlos Manuel Rodríguez, who wrote the chapter on nature-positive governance, will exchange views on the challenges and opportunities of nature positive, what makes it such an imperative today – and what needs to change in global governance, business, finance and society to make it a reality.

Speakers:

  • Marco Lambertini, Convener, Nature Positive Initiative
  • Carlos Manuel Rodríguez, CEO & Chairperson, Global Environment Facility

Organizers:

12:45 PM EDT / 18:45 CEST — Science-Based Dialogue: Law

Organizers:

1:00 PM EDT / 19:00 CEST — Amplify Climate

In a media environment flooded with noise, disinformation, and distraction, climate change remains invisible, despite its increasing impact on everyday life in everyday life. For Americans to connect these everyday impacts to climate change and its impact on their lives, they need clear messages that cut through this noise: accurate, actionable information from confident, credible voices. These same Americans also need to be empowered, and equipped with resources, to productively talk about how climate change affects their everyday lives and what people can do to keep themselves safe and prepared.

Speakers:

  • Bernadette Woods Placky, Chief Meteorologist, VP Engagement, Climate Matters, Climate Central
  • Katharine Hayhoe, Professor, Texas Tech University
  • Laura Schifter, Senior Fellow, The Aspen Institute

Organizers:

1:30 PM EDT / 19:30 CEST — Climate Solutions and You: Scaling Direct Action

Climate commitments from governments and corporations are stalling — but everyday people are stepping up. Around the world, individuals are showing that when action is accessible, creative, and collective, it can scale faster than traditional pathways. This event will spotlight this new wave of people-powered climate leadership. From viral movements fueled by social media, to public art that sparks mass participation, to grassroots funding models and accessible efforts like Terraformation’s One Tree a Month subscription, this conversation will highlight how millions can mobilize directly to deliver science-based climate solutions, bypassing institutional bottlenecks and accelerating impact.

Speakers:

  • Hikaru Hayakawa, Executive Director, Climate Cardinals

12:30 PM EDT / 18:30 CEST — Carbon Removals Scaling: Launch of Carbon Removals Action Guide for companies

Carbon Dioxide Removals are an essential complement to deep cuts in emissions, and reaching net zero on time will not be possible without them. Removals options are increasing, but navigating the market can be complex, and the role of removals is sometimes misunderstood as a substitute for reductions, rather than as a necessary addition.

Companies must start investing now to enable removals to scale at the pace required. The new Carbon Removals Action Guide, developed by the Exponential Roadmap Initiative with Rethinking Removals and Oxford Net Zero, provides science-based and standards-aligned recommendations for how companies can integrate CDR into their business strategies. The concept of twin trajectories is central.

This session will present the guide, highlight company insights, and explore how to build effective removal strategies, focusing on urgency, diverse portfolios, durability, co benefits, and robust reporting.

Organizers:

1:00 PM EDT / 19:00 CEST — Professional Services as Enablers of the Net Zero Transition: Challenges & Opportunities

Reaching net zero emissions by 2050 requires the active involvement of all sectors, including Professional Services Providers (PSPs). Through their advisory work, PSPs can strongly shape client strategies and projects, creating major opportunities to advance climate goals and systemic transformation.

This session, hosted by the Exponential Roadmap Initiative and partners, will highlight the role of PSPs as enablers and catalysts of the transition. It will outline the current landscape and future vision for PSPs, discuss challenges and opportunities in integrating climate impact into business strategy, and share progress from key stakeholders aligning their portfolios with net zero.
