The 62nd Munich Security Conference will take place from February 13 to 15, 2026. With longstanding alliances called into question, the rules-based international order eroding and mounting instability and escalating conflicts across the globe, the Munich Security Conference takes place at a fundamental inflection point. This year, MSC 2026 will focus on pressing challenges such as tech sovereignty, information integrity, and climate security.

More recently, he has served as the Director of Communications for the Global Climate Action Summit that took place in San Francisco in September 2018.

She was the first woman President of Ireland from 1990–1997 and a former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights between 1997–2002. From 2013 and 2016, she served as the UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy in three roles; first for the Great Lakes region of Africa, then on Climate Change until the historic Paris Agreement on Climate Change in 2015 and then as Special Envoy on El Niño and Climate. Mary Robinson is known for her work bridging the gap between the climate change and human rights communities and for championing a rights-based approach to seeking climate justice. She is passionate about the need to establish grassroots women’s leadership and participation as a cornerstone of gender-responsive climate policy and believes in an intergenerational, intersectional approach tackling the greatest challenges facing humanity.
Juan Manuel Santos is Chair of The Elders, was the President of Colombia from 2010 to 2018, and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2016 for his role in leading complex peace negotiations with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), which put an end to over 50 years of intractable civil war. During his presidency he significantly expanded protected areas in Colombia, strengthened the Ministry of the Environment, and protection of nature and the environment was made central to the Colombian peace agreement. In 2017, he was awarded the Kew International Medal for his efforts to conserve Colombia’s natural environment. As a member of The Elders, in 2023 he spoke to the UN Security Council on the need for cooperation on climate, peace and security. He believes in the need for bold leadership and multilateral cooperation in tackling the interlinked global challenges of the climate crisis and conflict.
Anna Zeiter is a leading global expert in data-driven platform businesses, data and AI. Until recently, Anna served as eBay’s global Chief Privacy Officer and VP for Privacy, Data & AI, and is is currently transitioning into her new role as CEO of W Social, a new Europe-based social media platform. In addition to her executive role, Anna serves as a board member of the global gaming company MTG and advisory board member of the global female health tracking app Flo. Besides that, Anna holds a PhD in free speech and is a honorary professor for data & AI at the University of Bern.
Sandrine Dixson-Declève is an international and European climate, energy, sustainable development, sustainable finance, complex systems thought leader. She is currently the Co-President of the Club of Rome and divides her time between lecturing, facilitating change in business and policy models and advisory work. She holds several advisory positions for the European Commission: Chair, Expert Group on Economic and Societal Impact of Research & Innovation (ESIR); Assembly Member, Climate Mitigation & Adaptation Mission (DGR&I); TEG Sustainable Finance Taxonomy and Sustainable Finance Platform (DGFISMA); United Nations: Food Summit Action Track 5 Resilience and for companies/organisations/institutes such as BMW, UBM, Climate KIC, UCL-Bartlett School of Enviornment and the IEEP. Sandrine is also a Senior Associate and faculty member of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) and a Senior Associate for E3G, Ambassador, for the Energy Transition Commission (ETC) and WEALL. In 2017 Sandrine co-founded the Women Enablers Change Agent Network (WECAN).
Gavin Newsom is an American politician serving as the 40th Governor of California since 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served as Lieutenant Governor of California from 2011 to 2019 and as Mayor of San Francisco from 2004 to 2011. As governor, Newsom has focused on climate action, healthcare access, housing reform, gun safety legislation, and expanding renewable energy. He survived a recall election in 2021 and was re-elected in 2022.
Birgitte Ringstad Vartdal was appointed to Statkraft Group management in 2020 as EVP European Wind and Solar, and held the position as EVP Nordics from 2022 until she was appointed CEO of Statkraft. Ringstad Vartdal came to Statkraft from the position as CEO in Golden Ocean. She has also worked as CFO in Golden Ocean, held various management positions in Torvald Klaveness Group and worked for Norsk Hydro's energy division. She has several board positions. She holds a MSc in Physics and Mathematics from The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway, and a MSc in Financial Mathematics from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Ms Diane B. Holdorf is Executive Vice President (EVP) and a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), based in Geneva, Switzerland. Diane joined WBCSD in December 2018 as Managing Director of Food and Nature where she led business efforts to accelerate the system transformation in the areas of food, nature and water. In October 2021, Diane took the role of EVP for Pathways. Before joining WBCSD, Diane was Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer at Kellogg. Prior to joining Kellogg, Diane served as Vice President for Delta Consultants (now Antea), a global environment, health and safety and sustainability consulting firm. During her 17 years with Delta Consultants, she served in numerous management and consulting roles, based in the US and in the UK, where she worked with many consumer-packaged goods, forest products and manufacturing companies in development and implementation of global programs for sustainability, environmental management and risk management. In 2022 Diane was selected as one of the 25 Badass Women shaping climate action by GreenBiz. In 2015, Diane was recognized as a Maize and Wheat Super Woman by CIMMYT (International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center) as part of the United Nation’s International Women’s Day. She is also recognized as an Oxfam Sisters on the Planet Ambassador.

He has worked at the intersection of academia, civil society, and politics, combining his passion for research with data-driven advisory. Trained as an economist, he later fell in love with computational social science and political psychology, fascinated by the rational irrationality of politics.

He specialises in analysing digital threats to democracy — from disinformation to polarization — and helps organisations build resilience through data‑driven insights and strategic advice. His work spans research, policy, and public‑sector engagements.
Erin Sikorsky is Director of the Center for Climate and Security (CCS), and the International Military Council on Climate and Security (IMCCS). She is an expert in geopolitical risk, strategic forecasting, and the national security implications of climate change, particularly the nexus of geopolitical competition and climate change. Previously, Erin served as Deputy Director of the Strategic Futures Group on the National Intelligence Council (NIC) in the United States, where she co-authored the quadrennial Global Trends report and led the US intelligence community’s environmental and climate security analysis. She was the founding chair of the Climate Security Advisory Council, a Congressionally mandated group designed to facilitate coordination between the intelligence community and US government scientific agencies. Prior to her position on the National Intelligence Council, she worked as a senior analyst in the US intelligence community for over a decade, leading teams examining conflict and instability risks in Africa and the Middle East, and won the National Intelligence Analysis Award. Ms. Sikorsky is an adjunct professor at George Mason University, where she designed and teaches a course on climate change and national security. She is also a contributing editor at Lawfare, a consultant for the Defense Science Board, a member of the Climate Migration Council, a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and serves on the advisory board of the Smith College Center for Environment, Ecological Design and Sustainability. She is regularly featured in television interviews on CNN, the BBC, and the Weather Channel, as well as public radio shows and podcasts such as The World, Here and Now, Chatter and America Adapts. She has published articles in a range of outlets, including Foreign Policy, Survival, Lawfare, War on the Rocks, The Hill, Just Security, and The Cipher Brief. Ms. Sikorsky earned a Master of International Affairs at Columbia University, and a B.A. in government from Smith College.
