EU Climate Pact Webinar: What does the Santa Marta Conference mean for the EU?

The European Climate Pact Germany and The Netherlands invite the European wide community to an important conversation on the future of Europe’s energy transition.
The first Conference on Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels took place in Santa Marta, Colombia, from 24 to 29 April 2026. Co‑hosted by Colombia and the Netherlands, it brought together representatives from 57 countries to discuss how to move away from coal, oil and gas in a just, orderly and equitable way. The conference focused on overcoming fossil‑fuel dependence, transforming energy supply and demand, and strengthening international cooperation. The "coalition of the willing", established a science-led coordination process, and produced a consolidated report on concrete transition solutions.
Watch this timely exchange on We Don't Have Time on October 13 at 15:00 CEST.
Together, we will reflect on the outcomes of Santa Marta, explore the EU’s role and consider what needs to happen next.
