COP26 Backdoor
Will the use of CO2 help to save the planet?
Welcome to this special broadcast, pre-recorded in Estonia in the run-up to COP26.
It is an inspiring story on how 600 million tons of oil shale ash hills and hundreds of millions of tons of CO2 can be used as raw materials, thereby decreasing the demand for virgin material mining somewhere else.
The unique project was born in Estonia, through an international collaboration of scientists, organisations, and companies. It is a story on how to make a 180 degrees turnaround in the challenging energy sector and linear economy, by developing a method to use CO2 to produce calcium carbonate forpaints, flooring, or window frames.
Is this one of several ways, we should use to take our civilisation out of the climate crises?
