Climate Change Summit, the leading event in Central and Eastern Europe dedicated to climate action, is returning for its 4th edition in Bucharest, Romania.
From 21–25 October 2025, join the Climate Change Summit for CCS Week, five days of debates, workshops, and networking with global leaders and innovators across Bucharest and CEE. The Main Event takes place on October 21st at the Palace of Parliament with the Blue Stage Conference, live podcasts, the CCS Awards, and an evening Networking Cocktail Party. Mrs Maria Rousseva has a long-standing career in the banking field, held several executive and non-executive management positions, for most of the time within Société Générale, in banks owned by the Group in Eastern Europe. In 2021, she joined the Board of Directors of BRD Groupe Société Générale. Subsequently, she held the position of Deputy CEO in charge of the Corporate business. Currently, she is the CEO of the bank.
Ciprian is leading the Social Innovation Solutions ecosystem, a group of organizations with a mission to empower individuals and organizations to understand future transformations and to develop sustainable solutions. SIS runs various educational programs in CEE, and the global conversation platform Climate Change Summit. He worked for 12 years for international organizations like Ashoka and the Aspen Institute, is a Global Shaper Alumni of the World Economic Forum, a Board Member of Rethink Romania, and a member of the Romanian Business Leaders community. As he strongly believes in the power of conversations, starting with 2023, Ciprian is hosting the ”Pro Verde” sustainability talk show at Stirile Pro TV. He teaches foresight and sustainability at The Entrepreneurship Academy in Bucharest. He has recently completed programs in sustainable finance and circularity at the Harvard Business School and the Cambridge Judge Business School.
Climate Change and served as Vice Chair of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice from 2017 to 2020. With a PhD in Applied Macroeconomics of Climate Change from the University of Cambridge, Annela has been involved in addressing scientific topics in climate negotiations, such as bunker fuels and response measures. She represents Estonia at the IPCC and, from 2019 onwards, served as Co-Chair of the Katowice Committee of Experts on Impacts of Implementation of Response Measures (KCI). Passionate about supporting women in leadership positions, Annela founded the Women Leaders' Network to provide a support system for women in similar roles within the climate change sector. This network allows women to openly share experiences, ask questions, and support each other in the field of climate leadership.
Diana Ürge-Vorsatz is a Professor at the Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy at the Central European University (CEU). She was elected as Vice Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in July 2023. In the Sixth Assessment cycle she served as Vice-Chair of IPCC’s Working Group III. (Mitigation). She was a Coordinating Lead Author in both the Fourth and Fifth Assessment Reports (AR4 and AR5) of the IPCC. She is Vice President of the Hungarian Scientific Panel on Climate Change. She holds a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, and UCLA and worked in Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
Hassan Damluji is the Director of Global Nation, a think-do tank focused on global cooperation. It collaborates with major institutions to address challenges like climate change, pandemics, conflict, and inequality. Global Nation also promotes coalitions for a fairer international system, highlighted by its Global Solidarity Report. Hassan played a key role in the $300 million Climate Resilience Partnership between the UAE and Gates Foundation and advises the Rockefeller Foundation on climate and health. He also contributed to global guidelines on managing extreme heat risks following the UN’s call to action. Previously, Hassan worked at the Gates Foundation as a personal advisor to Bill Gates for a decade. He is a Visiting Senior Fellow at LSE and the author of The Responsible Globalist, published by Penguin in 2019.
Dr. Scott Kelly is Senior Vice President at Risilience, leading the environmental analytics team. With over 20 years of experience in economics and sustainability, he has worked globally, applying systems thinking to guide policy and corporate strategy. He specializes in sustainable development and helping organizations transition to a low-carbon future. Scott is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at University of Cambridge and has authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles on sustainability and energy systems. He has served as Chief Economist at New Zealand's Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment and has contributed to major academic and industry forums worldwide.
Nacho de Juan-Creix is the founder of Plat Institute, a creative lab at the intersection of design, gastronomy, and sustainability. With a background in experience architecture and food design, he develops techniques, tools, and strategies that challenge conventional consumption and invite new circular models. He has collaborated with leading institutions, chefs, and brands worldwide, and his work explores how creativity and play can drive systemic change.
Eco-entrepreneur Louis De Jaeger has travelled the world for five years. During his travels he encountered various global issues, ranging from the decline of nature to malnutrition. Desperate to find solutions, he discovered a passion for regeneration. He immersed himself in natural agriculture, landscaping, regenerative entrepreneurship and transportation. Back in Belgium, he founded various companies, organizations and campaigns to have the greatest possible positive impact in the world. Over the last years, Louis De Jaeger has launched various initiatives, campaigns, working groups, trainings and projects for himself and for others. His greatest passion is to initiate positive change and bringing the right people together to achieve a shared vision.
Dr Hanna Haveri is an MD PhD, and a specialist in neurology with special competence in eHealth. Since 2021, she has been working as a planetary health physician besides her clinical work in Päijät-Häme Central Hospital in Lahti, Finland. In her current work she tries to disseminate knowledge of planetary health to different sectors and stakeholders, including popularizing science to lay audiences. In her research, she is investigating the determinators of human health and its interlinkages with the environment, a special focus on biodiversity. She regards transdisciplinary collaboration as the key to achieving tangible results in planetary health. She participates in the regional health and environment program Nature Step to Health 2022-32 in Lahti a well as multiple research project in the field of planetary health.
Ivan Holub is the Central and Eastern Europe Lead for One Planet One Health (OPOH) at Danone, where he drives sustainability transformation across diverse markets. With a focus on decarbonization, circular packaging, regulatory alignment, and stakeholder engagement, Ivan leads cross-functional initiatives that reflect the values of the B Corp movement. His work bridges strategic leadership with operational execution, fostering collaboration across borders to build a more ethical and resilient business ecosystem. Ivan is a vocal advocate for sustainability as a mindset shift.
Magdalena Jabłońska has over 20 years of experience in business advisory, focusing on innovation support and the development of startup ecosystems. She currently leads the Foundation for Technology Entrepreneurship, which runs the StartSmart CEE program, helping tech startups across Central and Eastern Europe. Magdalena has designed programs to foster tech startup incubation, promote startup-corporate collaboration, and implement open innovation. She also co-founded Cleantech for CEE, an initiative that accelerates clean technologies and promotes the region as a hub for climate innovation.
Amelia is the owner and General Partner of MCI Partners, a United Nations certified consulting group working as a trusted partner with heads of state, government ministries, development agencies and business leaders on their most pressing issues on gender equality and economics. MCI Partners provides strategic support to gender equality by helping countries and companies deliver gender economic governance in business strategy and operations, with a significant impact on economic sectors and growth. Amelia is credited with bringing gender equality into global development risks and establishing gender economic governance as an academic discipline. As an executive speaker, she advises top executives, asset managers, diplomats, and heads of state on gender issues and their integration into global business.
Cosmin Vladimirescu started his career in the financial-banking sector in 2000, one year after graduating from the Faculty of Management-Marketing at the Romanian-American University of Bucharest. His first role was as a Card Fraud Officer at Bancpost, and in 2005 was appointed Manager of the first Fraud and Payment Denial Department at Bancpost, a position that involved analyzing risk situations and managing card fraud prevention solutions. He joined Mastercard Europe in April 2007 as Account Manager for Romania and in 2010, he took on the role of Country Manager Mastercard Republic of Moldova, and after the end of his mandate in 2013, he was appointed Country Manager Mastercard Romania. Since February 2020, he has also been coordinating Mastercard Croatia. From his current position, he coordinates the entire activity of the company, focused on strategic pillars covering the promotion of electronic payments, innovation and development of new payment methods, financial education and inclusion, and social good, managing Mastercard’s operations and major projects, as well as the relationship with all stakeholders.
Jean-Philippe Guillaume is Deputy CEO, Global Corporates and a member of the Management Board at BRD – Groupe Société Générale. With over 30 years of experience in banking, including more than 24 years in senior management roles within Société Générale Group, he currently oversees activities dedicated to large corporate clients. He graduated from Sciences Po Paris with two Master’s degrees, in Economics and Finance and in Corporate Finance and Capital Markets, and also holds a Master’s degree in Wealth Management from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM). Since May 2024, he has been serving as Deputy CEO, Global Corporates, contributing to the development of advanced financial solutions for corporate clients.
Mrs. Stavchuk is currently serving as the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine for European Integration. Before assuming this role, she was the Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine. Prior to joining the Ukrainian cabinet, Mrs. Stavchuk worked at the National Environmental Center of Ukraine, where she coordinated work in the development and implementation of climate protection policy in Ukraine and participated in UN International Negotiations on climate change. Mrs. Stavchuk graduated with honors from the Faculty of Heat Power Engineering of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Computer Environmental and Economic Monitoring. She received her second higher education at the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (Lund, Sweden) with a degree in Environmental Management and Politics.
Jaime is the Co-Founder of CITIES FORUM and an international firm and think tank comprised of experts in sustainable urban development and smart cities. Jaime was the Smart City project coordinator and the e-mobility manager at the Murcia City Council in Spain. At present Jaime is leading various international projects of CITIES FORUM in the field of smart cities aimed at providing advice, training, and technical support to governments and cities worldwide in collaboration with funding organizations such as the World Bank, the IDB, or the GIZ. Jaime is an expert evaluator of electric mobility projects for the European Commission and has been a juror for several international awards like the "European CIVITAS AWARDS." Jaime was also recognized as a Top Transportation Planning Voice on LinkedIn.
Michel Scholte is the co-founder and director of True Price and Impact Institute. Through True Price, he and his team lead the way in transparent and fair market practices, contributing to numerous purchase points with true prices. The Impact Institute has gained international recognition, winning prestigious awards, including the UNCTAD ISAR Awards. Michel has been featured in major publications like The New Yorker, Time Magazine, and Forbes for his 15 years of work in market regulations and sustainability reporting.
Prior to joining Fauna & Flora in July 2023, Kristian was the Global Director of the Ocean programme at the World Resources Institute, where he also led the Friends of Ocean Action with the World Economic Forum and the High-Level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy. Kristian has had an impressive career in wildlife conservation; starting out in coral reef research, he’s since held several high-level roles in environmental and conservation organisations, including as Senior Marine Adviser to the Prince of Wales’s International Sustainability Unit, Director of Global Engagement at the Global Ocean Commission and Head of the Marine Programme at UNEP – World Conservation Monitoring Centre (WCMC).
Jan Schüßler is Head of Account Management International at ClimatePartner, a leading solution provider that supports businesses in decarbonization. Before joining ClimatePartner a decade ago, Jan built his expertise in the renewable energy and finance sector, where he developed a strong foundation in sustainable business practices. At ClimatePartner, Jan has played a pivotal role in the company’s growth and innovation, to drive impact across industries. Today he leads international teams in supporting organizations to calculate and reduce emissions as well as to finance certified global climate projects. With his unique background and broad expertise in corporate climate action, Jan supports companies on their journey towards net zero and empowers them to achieve transparency and measurable sustainability outcomes.
Roxana is the Executive Director of Social Innovation Solutions, supporting individuals and organizations in understanding the transformations of the future through sustainability education programs and conversation platforms in Romania and three other countries in Central and Eastern Europe, working with over 15,000 SMEs and NGOs. With professional experience on four continents, she has developed projects with global impact in education and sustainability, working in start-ups, NGOs, the corporate sector, and at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). She has contributed to Better World Initiatives’ impact investing program in Kenya and Nepal, as well as initiatives such as TEDxBucharest and TEDxCERN. Roxana was the Sustainability Manager for the Coldplay concerts in Romania in 2024, is a Global Shapers Bucharest Hub Alumna, an initiative of the World Economic Forum, and was included in the Capital Top 100 Women of Success.
