We Don't Have Time Studio in Stockholm

Climate & Law - Legal Action and Our Future - Stockholm

Personal Invitation: Join us to explore the opportunities and challenges of the law in the fight against climate change.

We Don't Have Time
Greenpeace Sweden

Welcome to an event to explore the opportunities and challenges of the law in the fight against climate change.

We are in the midst of an acute climate emergency.

With global warming having exceeded 1.5 degrees, seven out of nine planetary boundaries have been crossed. The question becomes all the more pressing: How can policymakers and climate litigation respond to the challenges we face?

Meet representatives from KlimaSeniorinnen, who won their case against the Swiss government at the European Court of Human Rights, and the Swedish youth organization Aurora, which is currently pursuing Sweden’s first climate lawsuit as well as Ecocide Law Alliance, on how common international rules benefits nature, climate and business.

When? October 8, from 16:00-18:30 CEST. Doors open at 16:00 and the event starts at 17:00 CEST.

Where? In We Don't Have Time Studio on Malmgårdsvägen 63, Stockholm. Capacity is limited, so please register as soon as possible on this page. If your plans change, we kindly ask you to let us know.

If you want to participate online instead, register here.

Member of the board, The Senior Women for Climate Protection Switzerland (KlimaSeniorinnen Schweiz)

The Senior Women for Climate Protection Switzerland (KlimaSeniorinnen Schweiz) took the Swiss government to court to protect their basic right to life itself. The Swiss courts refused to listen. So the Senior women took their government to the European Court of Human Rights. They are part of a global wave of cases seeking climate justice through the courts, demanding that governments and polluting corporations are held accountable for their failures to act. The Court’s ruling will have a worldwide impact.
