The Women and Climate community will be hosting BOLD, a global virtual event aimed at addressing and discussing bold topics:

  • And more including biodiversity, equity and justice, women’s health 

In this 1.5 hour session, you will hear from experts on BOLD topics through a mix of engaging formats including panels, interviews, hot-takes, and start-up pitches. Secretary General, International Military Council on Climate & Security

Sherri Goodman is the Secretary General of the International Military Council on Climate & Security and Senior Fellow at the Wilson Center’s Environmental Change and Security Program and Polar Institute. She is credited with educating a generation of U.S. military and government officials about the nexus between climate change and national security, using her famous coinage, “threat multiplier,” to fundamentally reshape the national discourse on the topic. A former first Deputy Undersecretary of Defense (Environmental Security) and staff member on the Senate Armed Services Committee, Goodman has founded, led, or advised nearly a dozen research organizations on environmental and energy matters, national security, and public policy. She currently serves on the National Academies Advisory Committee to the US Global Change Research Program, and is senior climate advisor to the US Government. She holds degrees from Harvard Law School, Harvard Kennedy School, and Amherst College.

Stacy Swann is the Founder of Resilient Earth Capital, and the former CEO and Founding Partner of Climate Finance Advisors, a benefit LLC based in Washington, DC. She has more than twenty-five years of experience in project finance, investment, climate change and climate investments, and sustainability. As CEO and Founder of Climate Finance Advisors, she led the firm through its early establishment in 2015, achieving more than 100% average annual growth since its founding, and in 2022 she shepherded the firm through a successful acquisition. Frances Fuller is Climate Analytics’ Head of Global Offices and the Director of the North America office based in New York. She also sits within the Implementation Strategies Team as a Senior Implementation Specialist, focusing on supporting the delivery of adaptation and mitigation implementation projects and supporting developing countries access to climate finance. Frances has a strong background in supporting strategic national development planning including Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), environment and climate policy implementation, and stakeholder engagement in the Caribbean and the United Nations (UN). As a member of the UN Secretary-General’s Climate Change Support Team, she supported and executed the UNSG’s strategy on climate change toward the adoption, signature, and ratification of the Paris Agreement. Frances Fuller is Climate Analytics’ Head of Global Offices and the Director of the North America office based in New York. She also sits within the Implementation Strategies Team as a Senior Implementation Specialist, focusing on supporting the delivery of adaptation and mitigation implementation projects and supporting developing countries access to climate finance. Frances has a strong background in supporting strategic national development planning including Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), environment and climate policy implementation, and stakeholder engagement in the Caribbean and the United Nations (UN). As a member of the UN Secretary-General’s Climate Change Support Team, she supported and executed the UNSG’s strategy on climate change toward the adoption, signature, and ratification of the Paris Agreement. Her experience at the UN also includes being the Special Assistant to the President of the 68th Session of the UN General Assembly, maintaining engagement and contact with high-level representatives, in particular in relation to major UN Conferences such as the Third International Conference on SIDS, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement. Prior to working in the UN, Fran worked for the Department of the Environment of the Government of Antigua and Barbuda, where she focused on natural resource management, ecosystem-based approaches to sustainable development, implementation of development projects, and multilateral environmental agreements, including the UNFCCC.
